BackupWordPress

Every web site needs an automated method of creating backups. This plugin will not only create a complete backup of your database, but your web site too!

It’s a few years old and there haven’t been any upates for some time.  However it still performs better than newer plugins that perform the same functions.  Until I find a better automated WordPress backup plugin, this is the one I will be using.

Google XML Sitemaps

What good is a web site if no one knows about it? In order for people to find your web site it needs to be crawled by the search engines, Google in particular.  This plugin creates a Google XML Sitemap that helps Google crawl your web site. When you make a new post it will create a new XML sitemap and notify Google there has been an update to your site.

WordPress.com Stats

Using this plugin I can monitor all of my clients stats from a single login. This plugin provide some very nice statistics including, top referring web sites, popular posts and pages, incoming links, top search terms, and number of visitors.

Resize at Upload Plus

I recently stumbled across this little gem of a plugin. No matter what kind of web site you setup with WordPress the owner always wants to upload pictures. Not everyone has access to or know how to use the various tools available to resize photographs.
